About

Hi, I'm David.

David Martin

I'm David Martin. I build AI knowledge systems and lead content for B2B teams, from North Vancouver.

For the past eleven years I've worked at a 40-year Canadian IT firm, where I am now the company's entire content, brand and marketing function. I write and design more than 100 social posts a year, produce the company's video, create its sales and event materials, and designed the logo and colour system behind its rebuilt website. Before that, I led more than 30 public-sector bids, including a roughly 300-page response that won a 20-year contract.

Over the past two years I've also built the AI systems that make that volume of work possible. One turns a new RFP into a branded, 80 to 90 percent complete first draft in about 30 minutes. Another takes every company social post from draft through approval to publishing. I train colleagues on these tools, and I make short videos that help people work with AI more effectively.

Outside work, I run DJC Kids, an animation channel I built from scratch to more than 261 million views. I write the stories and lyrics, design the characters and animate them, first by hand and now with AI. I've also written and illustrated seven children's picture books, and helped editorial cartoonist Adrian Raeside bring his picture book Dennis the Dragon back into print.

I spent ten years in Japan, where I directed curriculum and teacher training for a group of language schools, and I still speak and write Japanese. My training is in engineering, which may be why my first instinct with any big job is to build a better way of doing it.

Why work with me

What I bring to a leadership team.

I start with the business problem

Every system I have built began with a real bottleneck, not a tool looking for a use.

I build things that last

My systems run every day inside real approval processes, and people review everything they produce.

I bring people with me

I train colleagues, present to leadership and make short videos, so new tools are actually adopted.

I can also make the work

Writing, design and video are my craft, so I understand what good output looks like before I automate it.
